Just wanted to say that every time we have seen MCC, including last night in Wilmington, how impressed I am by your musicianship. You make playing the guitar look so easy that I want to go home and smash my Epiphone. Now for trivia: We also saw you play as the opener for an awful Bob Dylan show in Baltimore way back when. The venue burned down several weeks later. Were you responsible? LOL Thanks for reading this and my best to you, MCC, and that fantastic band.

Hey John -- Just heard your name mentioned on the radio and wondered where you were these days -- Looks like you're here -- Think I last saw you at an ADD Arts Festival in downtown DC where I had read poetry earlier in the day -- Should you see Bill, tell him he has a good friend still thinking of him.

John, I always loved your guitar playing on Mary Chapin Carpenter's albums. What kind of guitar and pickups were used on those albums. Thanks.

I believe you are from the Royer Lab, am I right?
I was wondering whether it was cool if I placed Royer 101's as overheads for a drumkit. Is this a good idea, or should I place Cole 4038 above it, or can I use the Royer as a FOK? I'd like your opinion about it, therefore I think your idea is of value.
Thanks a lot, Regards

My husband and I love your music.. Looking forward to wider release of Everybody Sing. In case you are wondering about the middle name, I am your first cousin (Kenneth and Helen's daughter). Haven't seen you since you were a little guy living in the Shenandoah Valley! Keep the CD's coming!!

Saw you in the Grand Opera House, Belfast during the recent M-C C tour, just as I did ten years previously in the Ulster Hall. Brilliant show & sublime guitar work, JJ. Some of the critics have panned 'Age of Miracles' for being predictable, safe and too similar to previous efforts. Whatever the contractual thing, M-C C needs a bit of edge and sparkle brought back into her composition and production. You are still the man to help this lady!

Hi John,
Just a quick note to say "thanks" for speaking to me after the MCC gig last Wednesday in Birmingham Town Hall. I do have two of your CD's. Thanks also for the guitar pick. A great gig -10 years is too long to visit the UK. The last time we say you was at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham (next to the Town Hall) - but it was like seeing old friends again. - Find good music wherever on the dial and we will travel the distance"

Pax as always

really enjoyed the concert in Dublin with Mary last Thursday, and my daughter was so delighted that you gave her the schedule of songs for the evening. a very nice gesture at the end of a wonderful evening of real music. Thanks again, and enjoy the rest of the tour.

Hey John! I thought of you last night when I saw the Allan Holdsworth trio (right here in Rochester NY). I fondly recall your understated observation -- perhaps w/ regard to a comparison we were making between Holdsworth and DiMeola -- that 'like all good guitarists, we must hammer on and pull off.' Needless to say, there were quite a few hammer-ons and pull-offs to be seen & heard last night...

All the best...drop a line if you can

Thank you so much for coming to Michigan on July 9th of 2010. I really enjoyed your playing and one of a kind style. I have been a musician for 31 years and I really do appreciate your dedication you have used to hone your skills. I only have 2 favorite guitar players and you are #1 in my book. Thanks again for coming to Michigan and may God Bless You, your health and all your work!!!

Hi John, how are you? I was on Facebook and suddenly your name was on the right side where the ads show up. It had to be fate. There is no way that your ad could have found its way to my page without it. I am going to try to get to Wolf Trap Barns on the 16th. Even if I have to come by myself. I hope I will at least get a chance to give you a hug and kiss hello. You were such a big part of my life years ago, no way I could forget. I hope you have not either. Would love to hear back from you. Otherwise, see you on the 16th. Happy Holidays.

Hey J.J. Remember me? Long time to say the least. (I'll keep short) Doing guitar for band in Frederick (Sticktime)and looking for someone who can help me with my rig that knows what they're doing instead of just trying to sell amps. Any recommendations? Hope all is well. Bob (www.sticktime.net if you need a laugh. we actually don't suck!)

Just thinking about you today. Listening to Buddy and thinking about writing. Julia started Pre-School today, which is, of course, impossible. We played "Name That Tune" in the car on the way to school. First I guessed, then she guessed, then she said, "OK Mommy, now you sing and try to guess your own song!". I got it on the second try :) What a trip this has been. Coming your way in November. Sure would like to see you...

Its great to hear your work on the new Mary Chapin Carpenter cd. I have enjoyed getting to see you play several times. I wish you'd come out here to play on your own. Do you have any solo cd's available? You played a solo on a tv special a few years back the song was amazing. I'm writing to say thank you for the years of great music. I'm going through radiation treatment for a brain tumor, I WILL BEAT THIS!!! I'm using Mary's music along with music from JImmy Buffett and positive thinking and a sense of humor will get me through. I just wanted you to know I really appreciate your music. Be well and I hope to see you play again soon.

Hey John,
I have lost track of you over the past several years. Judy and I last saw you in Greenville, SC. Taka told me that he saw you in LA. Taka came to S.C. to visit with Judy and me last summer. He wants totry to get us together again...you, me, Tex, and Taka. That would be a hoot. That would be part of the sixth grade rock and roll band your bio mentions! A lot has happened over the years...man I am a grandfather now. Joy gave us a little grandson on July 24th. His name is Hampton and he is something special. I hope you get this...email me back if you can. You can call me at Concord Baptist Church in Anderson, SC.
God bless you!

John,
We are so excited! Havn't stopped thinging about you and Mary Chapin since she asked me to come forward at the Ritacco Center in Jersey when my sister Cathy and I were dancing and getting into "He Thinks He'll keep Her" but then chickened-out....Why I'll never know. We are so excited about the new album and have already bought tickets to see you guys on tour in NY and Jersey. Please tell her Trish says hello and hope I will have a second opportunity to come forward or go back stage. You will remember us when you see my sister Cathy. We are nuts about you!!!!
